The NSW Test Isolation Payment is a one-off payment of $450 that is available to NSW residents who have been tested for Covid-19 and are awaiting the results. This payment is provided to assist with the financial burden of having to remain in isolation while waiting for the results.

The payment is available to anyone who has been tested for Covid-19, regardless of their income or employment status. It is also available to those who have been tested for Covid-19 for the first time and those who have been tested multiple times.

The $450 Test Isolation Payment is designed to provide financial assistance to those who are required to remain in self-isolation while waiting for their Covid-19 test results. It is available to anyone who meets the eligibility criteria, regardless of their income or employment status.

The payment is intended to help cover the cost of food, rent and other essential expenses while in self-isolation. It can also be used to cover the costs of any additional medical expenses or treatments that may be required due to having Covid-19.

The NSW Test Isolation Payment is a welcome initiative to help those who have been tested for Covid-19 and are awaiting their results. It provides financial assistance to those who need to remain in self-isolation while they wait for their results and can help cover the cost of food, rent and other essential expenses.

The government of New South Wales has introduced a new “isolation payment” which will allow residents affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to access up to $450 for an approved test for the virus.

NSW’s Minister for Mental Health, Bronnie Taylor, announced the payment in keeping with the state’s response to the outbreak, stating that this will enable “people who are isolating as a result of testing positive, or due to directed isolation due to their contact with confirmed cases, to have access to income support while they follow the directions of their doctor”.

The new payment was created to ensure no resident has to endure additional financial hardship due to medical circumstances which are beyond their control. Taylor said the Isolation Payment would also provide reassurance to vulnerable people in the community to get tested, and that it “can reduce the risk of spread of the virus”. Eligibility criteria include, but is not limited to:

    – Being diagnosed with COVID-19 or directed to self-isolate due to contact

    – An Aged Care Services Australia provider

    – An aged care facilities

    – Being in home quarantine due to travel

    – Holding a current Health Care Card

    – An Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service

The Isolation Payment will amount to $450 until the end of the June, 2020. For those who are not eligible for the payment, there may be other financial support available in the form of concessional loans and grants.

The government hopes that the payment will encourage residents to stay home, rest and recover, and play their part in the collective effort of stamping out the virus. For more information on eligibility criteria, please visit the NSW Government’s website.
