In December 2019, Sequoia Capital-backed Indonesian fintech BukuKas launched an online bookkeeping app, which has since grown into a full-fledged software stack that helps small businesses digitize their operations. Among other things, the end-to-end offering enables small merchants to manage their inventory, create invoices and receive payments through multiple digital wallets such as OVO, Dana, LinkAja and ShopeePay from customers. The company recently acquired a digital ledger app, Catatan Keuangan Harian, and launched an e-commerce platform called Tokko, which enables MSMEs to set up their own digital stores.
The start-up has now raised $50 million in a Series B round, led by Wise co-founder Taavet Hinrikus and DoorDash executive Gokul Rajaram. The funding will enable BukuKas to hire for its engineering and product teams in Jakarta and Bangalore, and fuel development of new products.
